Sneep case in the Netherlands

« Sneep” is the codename of the Dutch criminal brigade who investigated the case from 2005.

Two of the main brother suspects (37 and 42 years old), who are of Turkish –German origin, put many (at least 120) young women from southern and the east Europe to work as prostitutes in various towns in the Netherlands and in Germany.
In ten years, according to investigators, brothers have done
19 million euros in profit placed by their own mother in nightclubs, brothels and on bank account.
Accused of trafficking in women, Hassan and Saban Baran, were sentenced to two and seven years in prison.
Women were seduced by promises of work end gift. Then, once arrived in Germany or Netherlands, men confiscated their passports. Supervised all the time by pimps, other prostitutes and drivers, they couldn’t have contact with the outside. Moreover, most of women was beaten.

In the Netherlands, prostitution has been Tolerated for centuries and was legalized in 2000.
From 2005, large cities like Amsterdam have found that trafficking of women had reached
alarming proportions, because of the lack of real control.
Today the Netherlands is a hub for international trafficking in human beings.

Long way to go; monitoring and intimidation of women and families, prevent all possible evidence (so no prosecutions) and prevent dismantling of network traffic.
And for a trafficker or a pimps arrested, two are ready to take over
